Pine Township

Pine Township is a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 11,497 at the 2010 census. Pine Township was named for the abundance of pine trees. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 16.8 square miles, of which 0.06% is water.

Pine-Richland High School is ranked 7th within Pennsylvania. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Pine-Richland High School is 70 percent. The student body makeup is 51 percent male and 49 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 7 percent. Pine-Richland High School is the only high school in the Pine-Richland SD.
